This 60s truck has been turned into a 6-wheeler beast
This 60s truck has been transformed into a jaw-dropping 6-wheeler beast that is sure to turn heads. Originally a simple pick-up truck from the 1960s, it has been completely overhauled into a powerful and menacing machine. The impressive creation, known as ‘Slayer,’ was built by DeBerti Design, a renowned custom builder based in North Carolina, and was intended to steal the show at the famous SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) event held annually in Las Vegas.
Upon first glance, the truck’s epic appearance immediately grabs your attention. The entire vehicle is painted in a sleek black color, with the exception of its striking red wheels and an enormous supercharger protruding from the hood. The heart of this 6-wheeled truck is a Chevy LSX iron-block V8 engine, equipped with a massive Whipple supercharger. While the standard version of this engine delivers just over 400 horsepower, Doug and Brad DeBerti deliberately chose it because it can easily produce over 1,000 horsepower with some modifications.
Of course, handling such immense power requires a custom-made chassis, axle, and suspension. The DeBerti team took care of that as well. The truck now sits as close to the ground as physically possible, and with the addition of a front splitter and a substantial wing, it becomes a true drag race monster. Its aerodynamic features enhance stability and grip, making it capable of impressive speeds and jaw-dropping maneuvers.
At this year’s SEMA event, The Hoonigans, a popular YouTube channel known for their automotive stunts, requested DeBerti to showcase the Slayer alongside another truck based on the Tacoma model. While this alone may not be extraordinary, what caught everyone’s attention was The Hoonigans’ request to drift the Slayer.
This unique challenge is entirely within the realm of possibility, as experienced drivers like Ken Block and Brad DeBerti have proven their ability to drift almost anything. With its immense power, specially designed chassis, and aerodynamic enhancements, the Slayer is undoubtedly capable of putting on a show of smoke and sideways action.
what started as a modest 60s pick-up truck has been transformed into a 6-wheeled behemoth that commands attention wherever it goes. The DeBerti Design team’s meticulous craftsmanship, combined with the Slayer’s powerful engine, sleek aesthetics, and purpose-built features, make it a true marvel of automotive engineering. Whether it’s conquering the drag strip or drifting around corners, this beastly creation is a testament to the boundless creativity and technical expertise of its builders.
