Chevrolet Corvette C3 Restomod with 505 PS LS7 Power!

Chevrolet Corvette C3 Restomod with 505 PS LS7 Power!

In the realm of classic cars, there’s a special allure to blending the iconic designs of yesteryears with modern performance. This sentiment is encapsulated perfectly by the stunning pitch black Chevrolet Corvette C3 we’re about to unveil. But don’t be mistaken, it’s not just another production vehicle; it’s a work of art that brings together the spirit of the past and the power of the present, thanks to some impressive tuning. This particular C3, adorned with the C3R widebody kit from 1968, has been transformed into the ultimate Restomod, drawing inspiration from the legendary Mako Shark II (XP-830) Concept car of its era.

Amidst the era of the mid-engine Vette generation, this C3 in its elegant Mosaic Black Metallic paint stands as a testament to its timeless appeal, all while hinting at the latest Stingray. In fact, it’s even capable of rivaling the performance of its younger counterparts. This C3 has undergone a meticulous restoration and rebuild, culminating in the installation of a modern powerhouse under the hood. Despite its contemporary powerplant, it still pays homage to the classic C2 and C3 models in terms of aesthetics.

What sets this Vette apart is its imminent appearance at the Mecum Auctions. Starting on the 7th of January, 2021, and extending until the 16th of January, 2021, this C3 Chevrolet Corvette, complete with its new heart, will be up for grabs. But the engine isn’t the only modern touch this vehicle boasts. It’s been lavished with a multitude of modern enhancements, elevating its driving dynamics to an entirely new level. Beneath its frame rests a street shop chassis, coupled with an independent suspension sourced from a salvaged C7.

Of course, the centerpiece remains the powerplant. A 7.0-liter LS7 V8 engine, capable of belting out a vigorous 505 horsepower, is paired with a T6 six-speed manual transmission. This power is exclusively channeled to the rear wheels, each of which are adorned with a set of 20-inch three-piece Asanti carbon wheels, wrapped in high-speed rubber. The front wheels measure 20×9 inches, while the colossal rear wheels measure an impressive 20×13 inches.

Peering through these sleek wheel spokes reveals a modern brake system, courtesy of a 2018 Z06. The interior, too, has received a substantial makeover. Among the highlights are TMI racing seats equipped with sport belts, a luxurious full leather interior contrasted by orange stitching and seatbelts, Dakota Digital Ads, Vintage air conditioning, a sport steering wheel, and elegant aluminum pedals.

Countless meticulous details come together to make this C3 a sight to behold, including the carbon front apron, the air inlets in the fenders, the meticulously designed engine compartment with its vibrant orange Power Dome, and a minimalist rear end. All these elements come together harmoniously to create an extraordinary vehicle. The only caveat, if one could call it that, is the anticipated auction price of $200,000 to $235,000.
