Netflix Unveils Trailer for ‘Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft’ Animated Series Starring Hayley Atwell, Release Date Announced

Netflix has officially released the trailer for its upcoming animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which will star Hayley Atwell as the voice of the iconic adventurer. The series is set to premiere on October 10, 2024. Although labeled under Netflix Anime, this series is not considered traditional anime.

Following the beloved Tomb Raider video game franchise, The Legend of Lara Croft aims to expand the universe further. The video game series, known for its popularity and the iconic character of Lara Croft, has seen numerous adaptations, with this animated series being the latest addition.

In the recently released teaser trailer, Netflix confirms the release date and gives a glimpse of the action-packed adventure fans can expect. The series will continue the storyline from the Survivor Trilogy video games—Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The plot follows Lara Croft as she leaves her friends to undertake perilous solo missions. When a powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with a personal connection to Lara, she must return home. Her quest to retrieve the artifact leads her to various global locations and ancient tombs, forcing her to confront her true self and decide the kind of hero she wishes to become.

Hayley Atwell, known for her roles in the Marvel universe, will voice Lara Croft, while Allen Maldonado will voice Zip and Earl Baylon will reprise his role as Jonah Maiava. Further casting details are yet to be announced.

The series is developed by Tasha Huo and executive produced by Dmitri M. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj, Howard Bliss, and Jacob Robinson. While the number of episodes remains unconfirmed, fans eagerly await more updates.
